UFCW Local 21 Action CenterCampaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit UFCW Local 21.The short explanation of this alert was: In our campaign for Fair Share Health Care, we pushed to make sure large employers do the right thing pay their fair share of our state's health care costs. Our legislation will not pass this year because it was stopped by Speaker of the House Frank Chopp -- but our state's health care crisis has not stopped.
Now it's time to push our State elected officials to do the right thing and pass a budget which restores health care for 10,000 working people in our state -- plus 8,000 children who are currently stranded on a waiting list for health benefits. Our state has a budget surplus and we can afford to do at least this much for Washington's working families. We firmly believe that large employers need to live up to their responsibilities and provide health care coverage to employees -- and we will continue the fight to make sure they do so. This way, people who truly need this safety net can use it. If you would like to view details on this alert, please visit here. |
