Support Workers in Muscatine
On August 22, 2008 Grain Processing Corporation of Muscatine (GPC), Ia. locked out 350 bargaining employees, 300 of which are in UFCW Local 86D.
These workers have been without work for weeks now, fighting to preserve quality jobs that set the standards for pay and benefits in the Muscatine community.
They work hard for GPC. Tell the Company to give the workers the respect they deserve.

I support the workers

Dear [ Decision Maker ],
I am writing in support of area workers represented by UFCW Local 86d. I am shocked at the ingratitude Grain Processing Corporation has displayed by for those who spend so much of their lives working for the company's success. A good contract for area workers is not just a business agreement. It provides the public service of protecting good jobs for good people who want to be able to support their families. It strengthens communities, and also strengthens businesses. I urge you to recognize their hard work by offering a contract that contributes to workers' success as they have contributed to yours.
Sincerely, [Your name]
